The Vietnamese Youth and Student Festival in Europe is a landmark annual event organized by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Europe (VYSEF), hosted on a rotating basis by its member countries. Across its past 11 editions, the festival has grown into a cherished bridge connecting young Vietnamese overseas with their cultural heritage, while offering a dynamic academic space where young minds gather and share core values in an increasingly globalized world.
The year 2026 marks a milestone as Italy hosts the Festival for the very first time. Taking on the role of host nation, the Association of Vietnamese Students in Italy (ASVI) plays a central coordinating role—connecting student communities, diplomatic missions, and youth associations across Europe. ASVI’s leadership reflects the growing maturity, professional execution, and expanding presence of the Vietnamese student community in Italy.
The Festival is held under the patronage of the Embassy of Vietnam in Italy, with active support from Vietnamese Embassies across Europe, the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, and regional Vietnamese community groups. This broad backing highlights the event’s credibility, ensuring transparent operations compliant with both Vietnamese and host-country laws, while laying a solid foundation for cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and international partnership.
Centered around the theme “Nexus Camp – All Roads Lead to Rome,” this 12th edition draws inspiration from the timeless adage to bring together young Vietnamese intellects from across Europe. Here, shared values, culture, and education meet the energy of youth, creating a space for open academic dialogue, driving innovation, expanding global networks, and inspiring a forward-looking generation ready to integrate globally.
The 12th Festival promises an inspiring environment that fosters creativity, honors cultural identity, and encourages civic contribution. It highlights the vital role of the younger generation in innovation, digital transformation, and international integration—aligning with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on leveraging young intellectual resources for national development and protection. The overarching message—“Preserve Identity, Nurture Ambition, Shape the Future, Build the Nation”—runs through every activity, encouraging students to stay grounded in their heritage while actively embracing global opportunities.
The event will take place over three days, from August 28 to August 30, 2026, at Link Campus University in Rome, bringing together 100 to 120 campers along with 20 to 30 distinguished guests. Guests will include representatives from diplomatic missions, youth and student leadership, and community associations across Europe. Attendees comprise Vietnamese students, researchers, and young professionals living throughout Europe, alongside experts, entrepreneurs, and international organization representatives participating in the flagship Science and Technology Symposium.
The program features an Opening Ceremony, a Science and Technology Symposium, Team Building activities, a historic Walking Tour of iconic Roman landmarks—including the Colosseum, Fori Imperiali, Castel Sant’Angelo, and the Vatican—and a Closing Ceremony filled with vibrant cultural performances and community networking.
A highlight of the Science and Technology Symposium is the English-language Pitch Competition, where teams will analyze successful European development models and propose practical solutions tailored to Vietnam’s current needs. Built to spark innovation and problem-solving skills, the competition addresses real-world urban challenges highlighted in national initiatives, such as Decision No. 1193/QĐ-UBND of the Hanoi People’s Committee on key urban development tasks.
The Pitch Competition focuses on five major urban issues:
Alleviating traffic congestion within limited land capacity
Planning and developing static traffic infrastructure
Managing urban flooding
Controlling environmental pollution
Building modern, smart, and sustainable urban governance models
Through teamwork, case study analysis, and full English presentations, participants will hone their critical thinking, research acumen, public speaking, and collaborative skills in an international setting.
